Freedom Estate, ist eine kleine Anlage mit nur 6 Einheiten unter Thai/ Swiss Leitung. Sie liegt 6 km südlich vom Dorf Saladan (Bootsanleger), direkt oberhalb des 2 Kilometer langen, sandigen Phra-Ae Strandes. Die Zimmer sind in herrlicher Hanglage mit Meerblick erbaut worden. Die Entfernung zum Strand beträgt 300 Meter oder knapp 10 Minuten zu Fuß. Direkt unter uns an der Hauptstraße nur 5 Gehminuten entfernt befinden sich mehrere Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, ein 7/11 24-Std. Mini-Markt, Apotheke, Reiseagenturen, Tauchschulen, Bars und vieles mehr.

Ihre Gastgeber sind Phenprapha und Rolf, die beide vor 30 Jahren in Koh Lanta angekommen sind. Der Name Freedom Estate, kommt von Phen's Freedom Bar, eine kleine romantische Strandbar, die Phen ganz alleine geführt hatte, bevor sie sich mit Rolf zusammen tat, um das aufzubauen, was heute die Freedom Estate ist. Seit nun mehr als 20 Jahren empfangen wir Gäste aus aller Welt bei uns.

😀 - Ausstattung, Sauberkeit, Personal

Depends on what you are looking for

😀 - The apartment with all the amenities is comfy and the view is great. Supplied fresh water was brilliant (no more plastic!). 😞 - However, we felt really duped as in all the pictures you can't really tell all the apartments are actually duplexes... AND the duplex next to you is also right there so really the views and comforts are marred by others so close to you (our duplex neighbour was probably less than 2 metres away and loud. And the neighbors basically were in eyeline/earshot all the time). If your looking for seclusion and a feeling of peace ... We can't recommend. We were happy we only stayed 2 nights. Furthermore, we didn't understand why the co-owner and staff (Rolf was fine for intro and check-in) were around and so very close... Like the day we were to check out they started cleaning the room before we left... Why? So bizarre and invasive. And standing on our porch while we were inside? Why? Generally uncomfortable and never felt alone.

Perfect place to spend a holiday or park yourself if you are touring the country.

😀 - The owners are fantastic people. They are always around if you need them and kindly help you out if need be. But, the best thing is that they leave you alone if you want to be alone. The property is off the main road and on a hill so it is quiet and the grounds are maintained every day by a nice couple of locals. Great front balcony that has a small view of the sea. 😞 - Nothing. It was perfect for me. I renewed after my initital two weeks and may do so again.
